LIMITED TURQUOISE VINYL PRESSING FEATURING STUDIO OUTTAKES OF TRACKS WHICH WENT ON TO FORM THE REVERED 1987 OPUS OF EPIC DOOM, 'NIGHTFALL'.
Candlemass, formed by bassist and songwriter Leif Edling in Stockholm four decades ago, is well known for its influential Epic Doom Metal sound, which itself evolved out of the masterful Black Sabbath. Following the legendary and genre defining debut, 'Epicus Doomicus Metallicus' (1986), 'Nightfall' was released just one year later, resulting in another all-time classic; an album instrumental in shaping the scene that still exists to this day with its unrivalled melodic Heavy Doom.
On 'Nightfall', joining bass player and main songwriter Leif Edling was vocalist Jan Alfredo Marcolin, better known as Messiah Marcolin, who became a well-established and highly regarded vocalist throughout the Metal world, with his powerful, theatrical tones establishing him as an iconic presence in the band until his departure in the early 1990s.
As an essential piece of history for any fans of early period Candlemass, 'The Coming of Nightfall' presents a series of studio outtakes and alternate early mixes of album tracks from what was to become the eventual classic 'Nightfall' release. These rarities, from Leif Edling's archive, were faithfully restored by Patrick Engel at Temple of Disharmony.
This edition of 'The Coming of Nightfall' is presented on limited turquoise vinyl.
